AUFGABE
The State Government of New South Wales invites urban designers, planners, architects and landscape architects to participate in an urban design competition to renew a unique foreshore site on the edge of central Sydney, East Darling Harbour. The Government seeks the highest quality urban design ideas to transform this 22 hectare industrial site into a new working and recreational precinct for Australia’s premier city.
The Competition has two-stages – Stage One is open to those who satisfy the entry conditions. The Stage One process is also anonymous. Stage Two is by invitation to entrants selected from Stage One. Stage One requires conceptual designs that meet the requirements and objectives of this brief. Up to five(5) Finalists selected from Stage One may be invited to participate in Stage Two following an assessment of their capability. Following the completion of Stage 1 of the Competition, a public exhibition will be held. Public comment on the exhibition will be invited and made available to the competition Jury, for consideration in Stage 2 of the Competition. Finalists invited to participate in Stage Two of the Competition will be asked to develop their Stage One entries and respond to a more detailed brief incorporating both competition Jury and public comments on their submission. The Jury intends to nominate a winning entry/entrant at the completion of Stage Two of the Competition.
