Durch wohlmeinende Protektion über persönliche Beziehungen kam es zum Auftrag für eine Bebauungsstudie im Ragnitztal. Ein Bankdirektor und eine Wohnbaugenossenschaft hatten Interesse an unserer Arbeit.
1966
Vorlage unserer Studie, die über das übliche Maß von Wohnbauvorstellungen weit hinausging, daher kürz und bündig abgelehnt und aus dem Auftrag entlassen, aber honoriert.
Eine Personalausstellung gemeinsam mit der Werkgruppe Graz im Forum Stadtpark war für uns der Anlass, die Gedanken der Studie als realutopisches Projekt zu entwickeln.
1968
Bewerbung für eine Ausschreibung für Stadtbauvisionen durch den französischen Staat. Unter ca. 800 Bewerbern wurden 10 Arbeiten, darunter auch unsere, für eine Präsentation in Cannes ausgewählt.

"...And it is nothing like Domenig and Huth's Ragnitz project, the most developed and, above all, the most persuasive of the work to come out of the so called "Austrian school" (not really a unified group, since the Graz Architects - Domenig, Huth, Hafner etc. - were very different from Viennese visionaries like Hollein and Pichler). Not only did the Ragnitz scheme win its Grand Prix, but the very large model they built of it travelled to exhibitions in different parts of the world until it finally fell into pieces. The power of the scheme to convince lay almost intirely in that model. In its complete form (which I never saw, alas) it was the richest, fullest, most complete academic megamodel everbuilt, surpassing even Archigram's Control and Choice model. ...
